Climbing & Historical
Starting from Tehran, this tour includes visiting Alamout Castle, Andej and Ovan Lake. This full day trip requires relative fitness and physical health as 15 minutes climbing is unavoidable to reach the castle.
Like all of our 1-Day trips, the end-point is optional: you can choose staying in Qazvin instead of returning to Tehran. If you would like to make changes to the current plan, you can discuss it with us.
Deep nature is the best adjective to describe this lovely tour. Excellent for nature lovers, this tour explores the wonders and beauties of Alamout region. Remnants of Alamout Castle (Eagle’s Nest), revives the history of resistance against savage dictators. Here, Hasan-e Sabbah led the Shia Nizari Ismai’lis to fight against Seljuqs.
Ovan Lake, a small alpine lake in Alborz Range, and Andej add to this tour's natural allure.
Should explain that this 1-Day tour is tightly congested. Therefore, one may choose the 2-Days tour (including Qazvin), instead. That would provide more time to rest, as one night sleep in Qazvin is planned.
Like our other tours, we will start from Tehran, meeting in front of Iran Cozy Hostel. You should be ready 15 minutes before departure.
A good breakfast (breakfast and lunch are optional) ensures that you would be prepared for this trip. Depending on the season it would include fresh bread, cheese, jam, tea (or coffee min) and cream. 07:30 AM we depart towards Alamout Castle.
Not much has remained from the Eagle's Nest; When Ismai’lis finally surrendered to Mongols, they burnt the castle. Mainly built by brick and stone, its body has endured weathering. Yet, what makes this fortress appealing is the mysterious stories of Hasan-e Sabbah. Visiting the castle ends at 12:00.
On the walls of a deep gorge, the naturally cemented gravels are partially weathered and worn out by water. This process has dug big holes in the valley's vertical walls, making an extraordinary scenery to watch or take photos.
Meanwhile visiting this natural beauty, snack is served. Then we depart towards Ovan Lake at 13:30 PM.
The beautiful alpine lake would be an outstanding subject for photo shooting as well as a refreshing place to relax your soul. Lunch (if chosen when filling the reservation form) would be served here in a peaceful natural atmosphere.
Smoke of the fire made by wood and coal, makes a super tasty Kebab that overshadows any restaurant served meal. You can also participate in the cooking process that would be much fun.
The possibility to choose your trip end-point is a nice flexibility that makes this tour fit better your general plan.
Note: If you would prefer more changes, contact us. We happily listen to you.
A group up to four travelers, would be provided with a private car and an experienced guide who drives the car too. For a group of 5 to 11 members, a van driver would serve you alongside the guide.
As explained, depending of the number of applicants, a private car (1-4) or van (5-11) would transport you.
Snack and two bottles of water is always included. Yet, giving you the freedom to budget your tour, you may choose to have or exclude the breakfast and lunch. The difference in prices, is separately shown in the reservation form.
The museum and attractions might require paying entrance fees.
Souvenirs and additional foods/drinks that you might want.
If you are a group of friends traveling together, the price per person would be very economical.
Please bear in mind that you can choose different end-points for your tour. This changes the price, for sure.
Price of the guide and driver (that are the same for the tours by car) is already included in the total price.
Food cost is not included in the price. You can add it separately. However, snack and two bottles of water are in the services.
Tickets, if required by any place, attraction or museum, should be paid separately as it is not included.
For the 1-Day tours, no accommodation is planned.
